I have been on Asmanex for almost 3 years now for chronic asthma. With my asthma, I never have (or had) "acute" attacks, but would have trouble getting a whole breath for several days. Asmanex has helped significantly (though I still have trouble getting a whole breath fairly often, particularly when lying down), but it was the first medication my doctors tried that helped. Having been on it for 3 years now, I worry about long-term effects. Has anyone else been on Asmanex this long? Have you had any problems? If you have withdrawn from Asmanex, why did you get off it? Was your asthma gone after you withdrew from it? Did you replace Asmanex with something else? Another concern I have is that in 1.5-2 years, I'm planning on starting a family, but I know I can't be on Asmanex while I'm pregnant. Has anyone encountered this problem and did you switch to something else while pregnant, and if so, what did you switch to? My current doctor is not particularly good and he's hard to pin down for a minute to talk to. I would find another one, but I'm hoping to move out of state soon and so am waiting until I move to find a new doctor. I appreciate your insight!
Thanks everyone for your help!
