I am a 47 year old female that has had asthma all of my life. I was wanting to stop taking Advair and looked up this website, boy am I glad I did. I have all of these side effects. I have been taking Advair 500/50 twice daily for 7 yrs. I have all of the side affects and more. I have experienced hair lose, depression ( I also take Wellburtin XL) since I have started the Advair, I have pain in my legs that make me feel older than I am. I have gain 40 lbs in the past 7 yrs. I now wear reading glasses because my vision is blurry. People always say my face looks rounder. I hate the drug. My doctor said the none of the side effects are caused for the Advair. As of yesterday I stopped taking the Advair. I have cut down my does slowly for the past 2 months. Can someone who has stopped the Adavir tell me what to expect now that I have stopped. Advair is a crazy drug and I refuse to keep taking it.

I stopped cold turkey due to the inaction of my Doctor, who thought I was crazy with all the stuff going on with me. I was only on it 4 months but have been dealing with the side effects for a year and a half. My Dr. said none of my symptoms were Advair related too, I showed all my symptoms to my heart Dr." (which I have now due to Advair screwing up my electrical system)" He said everyone of them was Advair related. Anyway, you might not have my withdrawal symptoms due to you cutting your dose slowly. My headaches stopped within 2 days, felt pretty good for two weeks till my heart started doing strange things, had Papitaions for months, still have skipped beats occasionally, they were all the time for ahile. Depression caught me by surprise a few times but if your aware of it you can fight it off most of the time. I personally did'nt gain wait, I was losing weight fast and gaining abnormal strength, I have a physical job which might account for that, I am finally at a decent wait and my muscle mass has returned. Stress and irritability are mostly gone.
Just be aware of why you are feeling the way you do.
Hopefully you won't have the heart problems, My heart Dr. says Advair can bring out underlying problems, Great, so in other words Advair caused my problems,,, Cause and effect

I found out I don't have Asthma, some allergy thing, should never have been on Advair. That is why my inhalers never worked, they just made me hyper. No clue as to what causes my breathing problems, so I just deal with it, Vick's Vapor rub helps a little. I can't have anything with caffeine or my heart starts screwing up.

Good luck.

I just remembered, my legs were cramping all the time while at rest, my shoulders were so tight my arms would go numb, ache and my neck would be so tight the left side of my head would get numb. I still wake up at night to turn over and my body has to stretch each time I awake, which is weird. My shoulders are much better but I still have to remind myself to let them relax. I thought I was going to have a heart attack or a stroke if I kept taking Advair, my veins used to be popping way out at my temples when I got home after work, as I said I have a physical job and my blood pressure was ready do blow. I have started riding my bike regularly as my knees are shot and can't walk as far as I used too, my blood pressure is 118 - 125 over 67 - 73 and has helped with my irregular heart beats, I read about women around menopause having alot of heart problems and that regular aerobic exercise helps, so I gave it a shot and it does help.

Good luck again.
By the way I am a 52 yr old male that was in pretty good shape till I took Advair.
I will say one positive thing about Advair, while I was taking it, my breathing was great, but not worth a stoke or heart attack.
