I have been taking 10 mg.lipitor for 3 years or more....I seem to loose track of time because my memory is so bad....I ache and hurt all the time...I have severe back pain...Sometimes my back hurts so bad I cannot do any of my housework....All of my muscles just ache and hurt...I am 47 and I am steadily going downhill with my health....I feel nauseas for no reason...I have headaches...I told my doctor all of these symptoms and she has run all kinds of tests...They all come back normal...She has no idea why I have no energy and why I feel the way I do....She set me up for a stress test because I was complaining with chest pains...That test was normal...She set me up a sleep study...I am now sleeping with a cpap machine with the pressure set at 11.4...After going through all of these tests, I still feel like crap...I was sure after the sleep study things were going to get better...Then I started having such bad pains in the bottom of my feet...I could just be laying in bed and my feet would be throbbing with pain....and when I would try to get out of bed I could hardly walk...After about 5 or 10 minutes I could walk okay but the pain was still there....This is when I started looking around on the internet to see if I could find out what my problem was...I found this site and begin reading all of the side effects of lipitor...I knew right away that this was most likely my problem...I stopped taking lipitor 3 days ago....The only difference I can tell so far is that the pain in my feet is not as bad...I can hardly wait for the next morning because I am so anxious to see how I am going to feel...I am just wondering how long will it take for me to get back to my old self....oh I forgot about my stomach pain...The bottom of stomach hurts so bad at times...I told my doctor and she examined me and ran more tests but found nothing....My doctor does not know I have stopped taking lipitor...I have read that taking vitamin c or fish oil will help with lowering cholesterol..Does anyone know if this really works???

I stopped Lipitor in feb. and still have side effects. I have spent countless hours to research cholesterol, liver, etc.

I have been taking PANTETHINE and it really lowers cholesterol. Also, LECITHIN is good for memory, cholesterol, etc. If I can help more, just e-mail me.

My story is all of yours +++++. I noticed the day after I stopped taking the Lipex the pain intensity went down a little. I have been off the medicine for 6 months now. I still take some strong pain killer everyday BUT I am a zillion trillion times a happier man than I was, memory, temper, agitation, ability to get words out etc etc have all vastly improved and in another 12 months I'm hoping it will be a distant memory. Research COQ10. Purchase the Tishcon hydrosoluable 100mgs, don't bother with any other makes. Forget all your other vitamins and do the COQ10 2 x a day for 10 days. Then re avulate your other vitamins. Quality COQ10 over a period of a month reduced my muscle pain by 25 - 35 % and boosted my energy levels about the same. MAKE sure you research for your self COQ10 & just as importantly research THE BIO AVAILABLITY. The other interesting thing I uncovered is if you go to the label written by the drug companies themselves you will probably see that all your conditions are clearly written under known adverse side effects - these are written by the drug company. So Mr & Mrs Doctor give up practise & open a gun shop at least then your negligence would have you jailed instantly.
Good luck & drop me a short line in a couple of months re improvement and COQ10. C U from New Zealand

I am a 46 year old female and have been on 10 mg of lipitor for about 6 months now. I can hardly get out of bed in the morning. My feet feel like they the muscles are so tight. I walk like a 90 year old woman every morning. My back is killing me. I get food caught in my throat ALL the time. I have the blurred vision and neck aches. I am going to stop this drug after reading all these posts. If I ride in a vehicle for an hour I can hardly move when I get out. The pain is through my whole body. I also have very dry eyes in the morning. My father was diagnosed with ALS more than 10 years ago. He can hardly walk now. Has absolutely no muscle left in his legs. I was thinking I inherited the ALS. Now I am wondering if my father is suffering from taking statins for most of his later years of life.
