I had a bee sting and was put on prednisone for 40mg a day for five days.After my first day on it i had major muscle soreness,very sleepy,heart rate threw the roof and bad headaches.decided i wasn't take another dose but now 7 days out i have water retention and put on 3 pounds i have been my same weight for yrs and now all of sudden i put this weight on and my hands are swelling up still.i am wondering when the hell this will be out of my system with only taking one dose..i will never take this crap again...any one that knows how long this will last please let me know....

As you weren't on corticosteroids for a long time, so, probably, it'll take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to recover. Be well, and if at all possible, stay away from prednisone (and other corticosteroids) as their side effects are many and far-reaching.
