I think what a lot of women are experiencing is doctors not being forthcoming with the realities of side-effects. Women are having to deal with them without realizing often what is causing their problems, and being assured that it isn't the mirena, and that they're crazy or the "only one" with these problems when obviously as this board can attest, there are countless women who are experiencing the same symptoms. Mirena is touted as the perfect birth control and not much is said in the doctor's office about the horrible things that truly are happening to women.
I started having similar symptoms like 12 months after having it inserted and instead of getting better it is becoming worse every day. The nausea is always there, it's like I'm dizzy all the time. My vision is whacky, I am very anxious, forgetful at times, and having joint pains and weird pains all over my body. I thought that I would get better over time but it's been the opposite. I'm having my appointment to have it removed tomorrow and I'm counting the hours. I just hope that I start feeling better.
This registry is a place to share positive or negative side effects of using Mirena. If you directly experienced a side effect while using Mirena, then we encourage you to enter it here. Please note that entries here are the experiences of individual users, and in no way means that you or anyone else will experience the same side effect, since the same medication affects people in different ways. Please always contact your physician.
