I was prescribed Levaquin 750 mg 3 days ago for a sinus infection. The first day I was just in bed. I could not sleep because my neck hurt so bad. I figured I had slept funny on my pillow. The next morning I woke up and took my second pill. I got so very dizzy and when the lawn guy wanted a check, I discovered I could not write. My hands were so shaky and weird that I could not even write my name. I had to call someone to pick my son up from school because I was scared to drive. I could not sleep that night but did take my third pill. Today I got up and could not lift my right arm. My shoulder hurts so bad and I can't lift my arm without extreme pain. I am not going to take another dose. The Dr. did not tell me any of this could happen. I won't take this medication again. I hope I will be able to lift my arm soon and this horrible shoulder and neck pain will go away.

I'm 18 years old and live in Florida, while at the gynecologist for a routine visit my doctor strongly suggested that I start the Gardasil 3 shot cycle. After checking with my mom (who was unfortunately given biased information from my doctor without first doing research on the product) agreed since we both figured that my doctor would be knowledgeable enough on the subject (or you would think since she was the one administering the drug.) The first two shots went fine and I had no reaction at all. After the third shot (in October of 2007) I woke up the next morning with swollen hands and extreme swelling at the injection spot. I immediately returned to my gynecologist where I was told “there is no possible way you can be allergic to this medication” by my doctor, and that those reactions would go away in a few days. A few days following this I developed sores in the back of my throat and under my tongue, however my gynecologist still insisted there was no possible way it was an effect of the Gardasil (EVEN THOUGH IT WAS THE VERY NEXT DAY) & I had no previous illnesses. Within the week following I developed body-wide hives so severe that I cannot sleep and they affect my breathing. I’ve seen several doctors (allergist, dermatologist, primary physicians, and immunologists) none of which can determine why exactly I have these hives, besides that it is a “drug reaction” (it took 11 vials of blood to determine that). However when one of my dermatologists questioned Merck about it they simply said that there is no evidence and I cannot sew!!! That’s all they cared about! A law suit! WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT GET THIS SHOT, TELL EVERYONE YOU KNOW! It has ruined my life. As an 18 year old girl living in Florida I love to go to the beach however because of these hives they get so severe when I’m exposed to sunlight I can no longer go. It’s also extremely embarrassing when people stare at them since they cover most of my body on a daily basis.

I started taking Omeprazole 20 mg 3 days ago. The very first day I took it at night. The next morning I woke up and my head felt like it was spinning out of control. I tried closing my eyes, putting my head back on the pillow, etc. Finally it stopped. Next day, same thing but not as severe. I am stopping this medicine before any other symptoms occur. Glad I found this site!!

I was given a prescription for Trazodone four days ago beginning with a 150mg dose. I have a very long history of getting by on three to four hours of sleep and was constantly tired. That first dose really knocked me for a loop the next morning. When I first stood up after the alarm went off I was spacey, groggy, unsteady on my feet, joint pain in my knees and hips, and slight pain in the muscles of my legs. It was a full three hours before I felt somewhat better although I felt unsteady on my feet and when I walked, I walked as though I had a hangover. I decided to only take 75mg tab the second night. I slept twelve hours. When I awoke the above mentioned symptoms were still there but were much, much lest in intensity. The third night I took 50 mg. I slept nine hours and when I awoke the symptom were really minimal and felt quite normal after an hour or so.

I have been on the Fentanyl Patch for about 5-7 years now, for a condition called Loin Pain Hematuria Syndrome. It's rare (but more people are showing up with it) that is not life threatening and has no cure, but consists of serious pain in groin (loin) area, side pain (near kidneys) and sometimes around to back. It also consists of mid to large amounts of blood in the urine, it's known have thin blood vessels in the kidneys that allow blood cells to enter urine, but no real known reason of its cause. I am still pain free (just have discomfort on the third day before I change to a new patch) but after the first few years have started to have a lot of side effects and withdrawal symptoms. I change my patch at night and on the first day (the next morning) I feel fine and have no issues except a little sleepy from the night before. On the second day I get very sleepy, anxious, somewhat agitated easily, and a little depressed. On the third day, when I have to change my patch that night, I am even more sleepy to the point where I can barely keep my eyes open and they are heavy, all through the day and evening, I too have some memory issues but are not as much as the other side effects, I get low grade fevers that I can feel change over different areas of my body, shallow breathing in which it feels like it is sometimes hard to catch my breath, urinating often with not a lot of urine coming out (on third day only), some body aches, worrisome, more depressed, and weakness. Then after I change my patch the third night and it absorbs, I am wide awake and can hardly sleep. I even wake up every few hours on the second night, but the night I changy my patch is the worst, so I am tired the next day which is the first day on a new patch and the three day cycle starts all over again. I like that I am pain free, but at what cost? I am going to talk to my doctor again and they cannot pinpoint the nerves or areas of pain so I cannot have a pain pump, and I changed to this because I was getting so much break through pain between any pill form of pain medications. I did not like having to take pills every 4-6 hours. Has anyone else had this on Fentanyl or had the condition I have?

My Daughter is almost 11 and has been on Singulair since the age of 3. She has some very serious signs of anxiety. I was never told of any of the possibilities of these kinds of side effects. As a matter of fact the doctor never discussed any side effects. I only know what I read on the prescription information almost 8 years ago. I am horrified to find out about this information. She has also been complaining for a very long time of spasms and pains in her legs which I have brought up to her doctor and he claims they are and have been growing pains. She came home from school the other day and was devastated over some bullying that had occurred toward her that day. I was heartbroken to listen to this from her knowing I cant be at school to protect her from this unnecessary garbage and at the same time was waiting for the 11 o'clock news on the singulair information. Now reading all of this, I am sincerely concerned about what is really going on in her mind after I watched her get up the next morning on her own at 5:30 a.m., ready by 6:00 in a full blown anxiety attack about going to school, and dreading going period. I will be speaking to her doctor immediately and I will be removing her from this prescription to see if there is a difference.

I have been on birth control pills for 9 years now, I have tried them all and have never had any serious side effects from the pill in all my years on it. I switched to Femcon FE, and 45 minutes after taking my first pill I was getting sick and had horrible back and stomach cramps. The next morning I was sicker then ever and my breast were sore. I refused to take another Femcon FE, and I am now for the first time in 9 years going to take the month off from the pill, and start new after my period on a pill that will not make me sick. Women beware of this pill, it WILL make you sick.

My 9 1/2 yr old son started Singulair in July 2004 when he was 5 yrs old.Looking back now we realize that he started showing signs immediately. We only gave him Singulair in the fall when he had the most trouble with his asthma. His asthma was under control immediately but was not worth the damage that was done. He complained of pains in his legs that I just thought was growing pains. He would sometimes run a fever with no other symptoms of being sick and then the fever would go away. He would also feel like he always had to go to the bathroom, especially after he went to bed. I gave him Singulair at 7pm before he went to bed. The biggest change we noticed in him was the signs of attention deficit. We first noticed that he kept getting out of his seat at dinner time. No matter how many times we told him to sit down he would sit down and then a little while later he would get right back up. We realized after a while that he wasn't doing it to be defient he just couldn't help himself. I asked his Kindergarten teacher if he had trouble sitting in his seat or with attention but she didn't think he was any worse than any of the other Kindergarten kids. In 1st grade, at the beginning of the year, his teacher said he had trouble keeping his attention but then by January she said he was a different kid. We usually stopped giving him Singulair in December. The same thing happened with his 2nd grade teacher. I question his allergist in the fall of 2nd grade but his allergist said Singulair wasn't the cause for his ADHD symptoms. When his 3rd grade teacher contacted us in Oct 07 with the same complaints I realized that it must be the Singulair. I looked online for Singulair side effects and came across this website. I couldn't believe it. I was so disappointed in myself for not doing it sooner but we took him off Singulair immediately. I called his allergist the next morning and questioned him for a second time and he told me that sometimes parents of kids with ADHD just look for something to blame for their childs behavior. I couldn't believe he said it to me. We made an appointment at Children's Hospital Boston to have him evaluated for ADHD just in case but couldn't get an appointment until Feb 08. When we had him evaluated he had been off Singulair for over 3 months. The neurologist said he did not have ADHD. When I asked him if he thought Singulair could have been to blame for the symptoms he was showing and he said there was "compelling evidence" that showed Singulair does cause ADHD symptoms in some children. We were happy that he did not have ADHD but were so sad that we gave him this medicine for 3 years without realizing what damage it was doing. My biggest fear now is that there may be long term damage. All his symptoms have gone away but sometimes he still seems a little out of it and I don't know if it is just his age or his personality or if it might still be some long term effect from the Singulair. He is such a sweet, loving, caring boy and I hope that I didn't do any long term damage by giving his this horrible medicine. I hope that something will be done soon to get this medicine off the market. My prayers go out to all the families who lost children on this medicine. I can't even imagine the pain you are feeling but I thank you for getting your story out and saving other children! I am thankful that I was able to get informed by this website because God knows my allergist wasn't looking out for my son! His asthma has been under control since being off Singulair and just seems like a happier child over all!
Thank you!

I've been on 200 mg Lamictal for 2 months now, after 4 month titration up from 25mg; Going off Lithium 900mg titration to 450mg this week. Since 1st day of lower Lithium, all the common Lamictal symptoms went from mild to extreme. Whole body muscle aches (like 24 hours after a heavy weightlifting workout) worse in neck & back/shoulders/calves, bad headaches, swelling in hands & feet, extreme blurred vision, loss of memory, halted speech while trying to figure out what to say, fuzzy. I called the Clinic to simply ask which NSAID (aspirin? ibuprofen? Excedrin? naproxin?) to use to manage the pain. They all freaked and made me come in for a blood test to check Lithium levels. I explained I wasn't "overly" concerned about it at this point, but just looking for a recommendation, and that they may be over-reacting (even though I did appreciate their concern). I also reminded them that I had just **decreased** Lithium when it happened, so I wasn't having a Lithium Toxic attack (I'm well-versed in that, having been on Lithium for 7 years). It didn't do much good to tell them I thought their diagnosis was a little off. I'll find out the blood test results today, but I'm pretty sure I know what they'll be. They also wanted me to see my PCP since it could be something else. Again, the problem was a ramp-up of existing symptoms the next morning after I lowered Lithium (the only change), so I'm conviced everything centers around that. I think they're a little inexperienced with this med. (Lamictal/Lamotrigine) and if they'd just read this blog they'd probably learn a lot. They had never heard of the muscle ache side effect. Pretty hard to believe after reading all of your comments! My theory is that Lithium was somehow holding back the side-effects of Lamictal and now they're expressing themselves more fully. I haven't read anything like this on any internet discussion, so maybe my body is very different. But maybe my experience will give someone else some insight in a similar situation.
I might also mention something that happened to me I have only seen (kinda) in one other "blog" about follicle (sweat gland) cysts. Yeah, I definitely got the jawline acne starting at the Lamictal 50mg level & increasing at 100mg. But I also got my first ever "cyst" that concerned me and sent me to my dermatologist for the first time in 30 years (I'm 47 and saw the old guy when I had acne at 17!). It started as a blind pimple on my chest the week I increased Lamictal to 200mg (final dose), but didn't go away. It continued to grow (not diminish) over 4 weeks to 3/8 inch round/pink/solid/itchy/burn-when-rubbed. So off to the "Doctor" like my father used to do on a regular basis (I know I'm getting old now) and scalpel/pop/stitch it was out. But it was real, not my imagination or hypocondria, and the timing of its appearance was right when Lamictal changed to full steam. Since acne appears to be a common effect with so many, it seems it's not unreasonable that this occurs occasionally as well to others. Let me be the 2nd to mention it. No "official" verification, but....
I'm not bagging on Lamictal, and have been very hopeful that this would be better than Lithium. It has eliminated the GastroIntestinal problems I had on Lithium, but I am getting discouraged that it has all the brand new symptoms that are discussed in this blog. Your "stuff" is real. I wish the Docs/Nurses/Case Workers would spend 5 minutes checking your comments out. It might bring about a better informed conversation than the shiny Glaxo flyers provide. That is all.

I don't wish this on anyone, but it's comforting to know I am not the only one. On Day 3 of taking Bactrim, developed a slight headache. The next morning, it was throbbing, especially when I bent down. The headache persisted, and was joined by body aches, sweating, and shivering. My doctor wants me to keep taking the drug, but after reading these postings, I'd much rather let the infection clear up on it own. Not sure if this is relevant, but I had an allergic reaction once to Amoxicillin (hives, rash). I cannot wait until this leaves my system.

To anyone new to this site whose child is on Singulair and having problems consistent with the adverse reactions to Singulair documented on this site: take your child to the doctor as soon as possible and tell them you believe that your child is having an adverse reaction to the drug. Do not let yourself be talked into believing that Singulair does not have these side effects. Too many of us right here can confirm that it does. Even though the prescribing information for this drug has been updated to include a warning about these adverse effects, and the FDA is conducting an investigation into the safety of this drug, not all doctors are aware and some are simply unwilling to believe. If you hear "anecdotal evidence", "highly unlikely," or "I've never seen it happen" uttered during your visit, know that your doctor is making excuses for not knowing accurate information about this drug.

Doctors may attribute your child's behavior to their personality or developmental stages. But any child on Singulair should be removed from the drug if a consistent pattern of different or abnormal behavior is present. Most children do not fly off the handle for no reason, have night terrors, prolonged, violent temper tantrums, and act anxious, angry, sad, hateful, disconnected, or withdrawn most of the time. Most children do not have behavior problems that consistently leave you feeling like the worst parent in the world and completely mentally exhausted at the end of each and every day.

Tell your doctor that you want them to prescribe another asthma maintanence medication with a documented low risk of side effects. If your doctor trivializes your concerns or refuses to honor your request, FIND A NEW DOCTOR! YOU are the expert on your child, not someone who sees them a few times a year for a few minutes at a time.

After Singulair has been stopped, watch for a positive change in behavior over the course of several weeks. Make sure you have rescue medications on hand in case needed.

Most importantly, GO WITH YOUR GUT. "If something doesn't feel right, then something ain't right!"

I was an occasional user of Ambien CR, took it if I couldn't sleep. Well a few weeks ago I couldn't sleep took an Ambien and woke up in bed the next morning with a crushed wrist, cheekbone, temporal bone, bruises etc. Apparently, I walked in my sleep had a serious fall (and concussion) then got myself back in bed???? I don't remember anything--including much of the next day, emergency room, operations etc. It was a nightmare. I seriously think this drug should be taken off the market. It made me wonder if I walked in my sleep after taking this before and had no recollection.
I have missed weeks of work, gone through several extensive operations and have been through a lot of pain. I have since read that I am one of many ambien sleepwalkers with all kinds of results---why are they still allowing this drug to be on the market????

I started taking birth control when I was 19 because i had severe cramps since i was 11 and also found out i had an ovarivan cyst... First I tried Kariva but I got TERRIBLE headaches everyday, so the doc switched me to Necon 1/35. I took the necon for 3 months, and each month right when I was supposed to get my period I would start throwing up all night, I ended up in the er each month cause I could not stop throwing up. So then the doc switched me to tri-nessa, I was on tri-nessa for 3 months again, first month was fine, no cramps no throwing up nothing....until the 2nd month... I started throwing up horribly again. I finally went to see a real gyno cause my pcp said she doesn't normally handle bc so she couldn't help too much. Once I saw the gyno he suggested the lowest dose bc ever or nuvaring.. Since so many pills made me sick I said Nuvaring. BOY WHAT THAT A MISTAKE! First month on nuvaring I broke out in hives. My doctor said nuvaring couldn't cause that so I continued with it. 2 weeks later, 1 week after having my period and starting the 2nd nuvaring, I was laying down and got really bad chest pains, I felt like I was having a heart attack. My bf & his mom rushed me to the er. I was there for hours and they found nothing, sent me home with painkillers...next day i started throwing up and still had chest pains, went back to the er and they said there was nothing they could do... continued to throw up all day....3am the next morning went to a different er and they said i had chestwall compressions....sent me home with the same painkiller as the other er except this one was extra strength.. continued to throw up for 4 more days and in pain...couldn't eat sleep...just kept throwing up... Finally my best friend and her bf took me to a er 40 minutes away and they said my kidneys were malfunctioning due to the 3 catscans (i told each hospital i got them done at the other er and they still decided to do them again)... got admitted to the hospital, 4 days into being there it was time for the nuvaring to come out, as soon as i took that out my kidney function levels went down, they continued to go down for 2 days and they sent me home... I called up my pharmacist and asked about all this and sure enough NUVARING can cause chest pains AND hives!!! It also says to not use if you have kidney problems... all the er docs told me nuvaring could never do that and not to take it out... if i had known I would have taken it out day 1 instead of being in & out of hospitals for 2 weeks... I WILL NEVER EVER USE NUVARING AGAIN!!!! Since I stopped using it I spot for a week then get my period for a week and every month im 2 weeks late.... birth control sucks and i will never use it again..... every month I just sit here , call out of work, and scream & cry from pain.... :(

I started dating my now husband over a year 1/2 ago & started taking Alesse for 6 months. I had no bad side effects & everything was great those 6 months but I didn't renew the prescription because remembering the pill everyday is a hassle... Dumb mistake! I got a 3 month trial of that new NuvaRing thinking it would be great not to worry about the pill. Wrong again, I had the worst breakouts. mood swings, numbness in my face/arms & total lack of sex drive brought on by constant pain during intercourse with painful tenderness lasting days after.... So I asked to be prescribed Alesse again but the pharmacy ended up giving me this Aviane since my coverage is for generic. I don't know how to explain it really, don't know if it's just the switch but I my period lasted about one day. First it was dark (nearly black) hardly blood at all but congealed! Than later that night I had some cramping & a flow of blood. That was it. The next morning I woke up to find my labia majora was painfully red and swollen. (Now I have never been sexually active before my husband and a few months after we started having intercourse I asked him to get checked with me & both came back clear so as far as I know there is nothing unknown that can be causing this!) I am going to call my doctors office today & hopefully speak with a nurse... In the meantime I refilled my prescription for Alesse & will dish out the extra money..

My daughter was prescribed Sulfatrim 200-40/5 during a ER visit where she was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection. I gave her her first dose (two teaspoons) around 6:00pm and the next morning when she woke up her eyes were blood red. She looked like she had an extreme case of pink eye, minus the itching, swelling and puss. It went away after about three days off of the meds. I will always look up any meds prior to given them to my child, even if they are prescribed by a physician.

This is a horrifying method of birth control! I had mine put in on 8/18 and it was AWFUL! The worst pain I have ever had in my life! After the doctor "forced" it in, I was apologized to and told that since I have never had a vaginal birth that there were suppose to give me something to soften my cervix. Well...needless to say it was not soft and it was thick and hard! So you can only imagine what my friend heard in the waiting area and how shocked she was to hear me scream to the top of my lungs. How embarrassing that was for me. I cramped I was bleeding I was miserable!!! I didn't sleep that night because I was cramping so bad. The next day around 5:30 that afternoon I lost it. I started crying and could not stop. All I could tell my husband is that I wanted it out! It made me emotional, depressed and confused all within 24 hrs. Oh...plus they left me on my birth control pills and told me to finish those out then stop taking them. You can only imagine what hormones were going on in my body. By the end of the night my husband told me to call immediately the next morning and have it removed. I called the dr. office told them I wanted it out and had it removed. Within an hour or two I felt so much better and improved daily. Two days later I started bleeding and it has lasted about 5 days. All I can say is DO NOT DO IT!!!! I am on the pill and will stay that way until my husband decides to have a vesectomy..

I got an infection on my leg from an bite and went to the er to get it checked out and they opened my abscess and prescribed me Bactrim. I made sure i was talking it to get rid of the infection and didn't want to go through that pain again. Then 4 days later I started running a high fever and nothing I did could get it to stop. It would go away for an hour or so then come back. I assumed I was getting the flu cause I had a fever, bad body aches, and I had nausea and stomach ache. But I could not figure our why I had chest and back pain. Well then the next morning I woke up with a major rash all over my body. From my head to my toes, I went straight to the emergency room and they told me to stop taking the bactrim and gave me Prednisone and Benadryl. This has been the worst experience of my life. I don't think they should use this drug at all. It has the corst side effects and they take a long time to recover from.

My son was born March 2007, when he was 8wks old, to much of my surprise I found out that I was pregnant again. Mirena sounded perfect!!!! I had it placed 7 weeks after my 2nd son was born in Jan 2008. I had what I still assume is normal with any type of birth control method, irregular bleeding, cramping, some slight mood swings. That all seems normal to me when you mess with you body like that. Aug 1, 2008 I woke up at4am with awful abdominal pain sooo bad that I turned to my husband and said that I think I have to go to the hospital. I decided that if I could fall back asleep then its probably nothing major. I fell back asleep (or passed out, I don't know) The next morning I was hurting so bad I couldn't lift anything, couldn't stand up straight, felt weak and felt as though I had rocks in my stomach but had an empty feeling at the same time. The pain was all over my abdomen, stabbing, shooting, pinching. I also had pain aroung my belly button and a noticeable discomfort about my pevic bone. Finally I called my husband to come home, went to the hospital, they took blood, cultures, did an exam and did a ctscan. All normal! WHAT!! Aug 11th still having pain and now having MAJOR HOT FLASHES. I find myself getting so hot and irritated that I cant be around the babies because I am afraid I will yell at them. If I get in a little disagreement with my husband it will most likely end with me saying I want a divorce (I noticed another lady with that same problem) Today I had a ultra sound done and it came back what my (new) doctor says is normal. The problem with that is that one of my ovaries is split and is NOW shaped like a horse-shoe. I was pregnant for almost 2yrs straight and had lots of ultrasounds NOT ONE TIME did anyone say anything about a odd ovary. I'm just going to make a educated guess that it wasn't deformed till after the Mirena. Now I am wanting to remove it but feel like I should get every test known to man first to rule out any other possibility. I really don't want to remove it. I am afraid of getting it removed and even more of getting pregnant when I already have two 10 months apart and still in diapers.
My biggest question is wanting to know if hot flashes are related or if I might be having something else going on. Am I the only one with he hot flashes? I have them all day long!!!!!!!!
Also I noticed after reading other post that some other things may be related like, piercing headaches, itchy flaky oily scalp, weight gain, ear drainage, lower back pain, oily skin, increased smoking, in-grown hairs in inner thigh area, joint pain, fatigue, decrease sex drive.

Macrobid was the 3rd antibiotic I was prescribed for a UTI because the side effects of the others were so bad. Took 1 pill in the p.m., woke the next morning with the worst nausea and pain in my neck and shoulders. By the end of the day my lymph nodes were swollen, could hardly move my head. Stayed home the next day I was so sick. The "cure" was worse than the UTI!

I am 20 and have been on Yasmin a year and a half now and to be honest I am still not 100% completely convinced that Yasmin is the root of all my evils. To all of you who are having horrible side effects after a few days, give it time. Your body is trying to adjust to all the hormones you are putting into it and it’s doing its best to get back to normal. My first month was semi-bad, some nausea here and there and a little tenderness, but not enough to stop my life over. My doctor recommended taking the pill right before I went to bed so I could hopefully sleep though the nausea, which I usually did. After the first month I was perfectly fine and back to my normal life. I then switched to taking my pill in the morning so it was easier for me to remember. After reading countless “horror stories” on this website even I started saying, “oh my gosh, I have that….i have that too….and that!...its all because of that horrible Yasmin!” But then I had to take a step back and realize Yasmin is not to blame. Sure, I have panic attacks sometimes, but I have had those way before I started taking birth control and sure I get depressed sometimes, but what woman hasn’t at least once in their life? I didn’t lose or gain weight, my acne perhaps got a little better, and my breasts didn’t change an inch. My only questioning factor is that I don’t really have that big of a sex drive, but then I realized I never have. Now, before you all start yelling at me, I am not calling you liars in the least, I believe you and I feel sorry for all of you who have experienced bad things because of this or other birth control pills. For those of you who are thinking of taking Yasmin and are scared after reading all of these articles, remember, every body reacts to pills and medication differently. Thousands of people die every year from taking Tylenol and aspirin, but does that mean we should take these medicines completely off the shelves? Of course not. All I am saying is for every one Yasmin horror story there are thousands of very satisfied customers. Give it a try, you only have three months of your life to lose and so much to gain.

Well...i'm only 17 years old and i have been trying EVERYTHING to get rid of my 2 week long heavy period and extremely severe cramping. I have been on 3 different kinds of oral BC and i would still bleed for 2 weeks. So i tried the Mirena IUD and that was the worst idea of my life. It went in fine but about 10 minutes later i was in a extreme amount of pain (and i have a very high pain tolerance, broke 3 ribs and didn't cry) i called my gyno back and he prescribed me a pain medication but it didn't work. After trying 3 different pain medications and an antibiotic i had enough. I went to the hospital and was prescribed percocet and that helped. I went back a few days later and had it taken out so now i am trying the NuvaRing. I put it in and a few hours later started cramping and having back pain. The next morning i had very bad nausea and cramping. Its about a week later now and i am experiencing headaches, nausea, quite bad cramping, bloating, tiredness all the time and i just don't feel myself anymore. I am calling my gyno back to see what he suggests but i'm looking for any ideas or suggestions until i get a hold of him. Thanks

I was started on Lisinopril about a month and a half ago.

Initially I was taking 20 mg. I started having a dry cough and it was worse at night. After a month the doctor increased my dosage to 40 mg. The cough has grown much worse. As someone stated above...any phone conversation I have that is of any length at all will find me coughing continually.

At night I sleep for about 1 1/2 hours and then am awake for many hours before I can fall back asleep because my legs are aching and I have Charley horses in my toes. I have had problems with achy legs at night, in the past and ibuprofen always helped...now it doesn't and the achy legs are every single night.

Two nights ago I went to bed at 10:00 and woke up at 11:15. I was awake until 4:30 the next morning.

I decided after doing some reading on lisinopril that I was not going to take it any longer. The doctor had told me at my last visit that if the coughing increased they would change my prescription.

I too have experienced some nausea and headaches.

I commonly suffer the side affects of drugs so I'm not really surprised.

I was prescribed Levaquin for a bout of diverticulitis six weeks ago. About a half hour after taking it each morning, I felt completely unwell--dizziness, fatigue, overall weakness, odd sensations of pressure in my head, chest, and bladder, weird bouts of sudden joint pain. The worst side effect was terrible insomnia. I'd go to sleep OK, but wake up after 3 hours and not be able to get back to sleep, sometimes for the rest of the night. Instead of getting the rest I needed to get better, I was getting more and more exhausted. Now, a month after stopping the medication, my sleep hasn't returned to normal. I'm still awake in the middle of the night for two or more hours. Is this a residual side effect from Levaquin? Has anyone else experienced it? When can I expect my sleep to improve? Is there a way to detoxify from this drug?

My husband was stung by a wasp. He had a major reaction of hives and fainting spells. Naturally we went to emergency where the doctor prescribed.. you guessed it.. PREDNISONE !! sigh. He was told to take it only the next morning of his attack as the prednisone would make him too irritable to sleep. He woke up the next morning and all his rash was gone and he was feeling like a million bucks. NO more side effects from the wasp sting. We were always wondering WHY he needed to take prednisone for a wasp sting but wanting to listen to our knowledgeable and GOOD doctors, my husband took the prednisone. He was told to take 10 5mg pills in one shot, therefore, 50 mg. per day and then eventually wean himself off. Well, he took but the first 10 and within the 1/2 hour he developed an even greater reaction to hives than the day before. He became very agitated and moody... We drove back to the hosp. only to see the same doctor who'd tell us that he didn't HAVE to take the prednison if he didn't want to and that he was SURE that the prednisone had not caused this latest and worse reaction !!
For crying out loud. This is the year 2008. Couldn't the doctor have told us ahead of time that if the symptoms disappeared before even filling in the prescription ( which is what happened in this case ), THAT He should never have taken any drug? Prednisone is a killer. I know.. My mom DIED because of this darn drug only to find out that they were treating her for a disease that she probably didn't have after years of using PREDNISONE. These poor older people think that the doctors are GOD and that they have to listen to their every word. My husband, on the other hand, has thrown the drug away after just ONE USE. PLEASE, people, find other doctors and solutions and get second opinions.
