OK FOLKS -HERE'S A GOOD ONE FOR YA- Just over a year ago I was on a heart transplant list. Today my heart function is normal and I am off ALL HEART MEDS. Even after finding out my heart function level was normal I was still living a nightmare for some unexplained reason. After MONTHS of tests and everyone telling me I was nuts a neurologist finally found out I was having seizure activity. Funny how my "seizure activity" feels EXACTLY how I felt when they increased my beta blocker dosage. I'm telling all of you.. This beta blocker helps some but they are burying their mistakes. I now know all of my ER trips, only to have them laugh and have them send me back home, were do to seizures caused by beta blockers while I had heart failure. I'm lucky to be alive.... and now that my heart function is good I have to fight this seizure BS. *REMEMBER THIS - Only YOU know what your body is telling you.. LISTEN TO IT! But do be careful.. You can't just stop taking a beta blocker.. Good luck all cuz we sure need it!

I am a 45 year old woman. I have been on advair (it is called serevent in Australia) for about 2 1/2 years. I have noticed the following symptoms:
insomnia, headaches, weight gain, severe mood swings, chesty cough, sore chest, aches and pains all over and many more. Every time I would try to go off of it my asthma would seem to get worse so out of fear I would resume using it. I have now been off of it for 3 days and already I can feel the chesty cough starting to dry up. The irony is that I never had severe asthma, I was given advair because I got a very nasty flu and my asthma got worse. In hindsight I think it would have proably cleared up on its own. I would urge anyone to be very careful with this drug it is very, very dangerous!!!!

I LOWERED MY CHOLESTEROL BY NOT DRINKING COFFE AND NO FAT IN DIET.
Healthy Heart Reports
Coffee Raises Homocysteine And Cholesterol
A study from Denmark shows that drinking four or more cups of filtered caffeinated coffee per day raises blood levels of both cholesterol and homocysteine, and that stopping drinking coffee lowers both of these values.
Having high blood levels of either homocysteine or cholesterol increases your chances for getting a heart attack. Many studies show that coffee raises cholesterol in Europeans, but not in Americans. This was explained by the fact that Europeans drink unfiltered coffee, while Americans drink it filtered, and filtering removes a component of coffee that raises cholesterol. Now, this study shows that drinking four or more cups of even filtered coffee raises cholesterol, showing that the filter does not remove all of whatever chemical raises cholesterol. If scientist can agree on these studies, the recommendation is for you to drink only filtered coffee and then not more than three cups a day.
Abstention from filtered coffee reduces the concentrations of plasma homocysteine and serum cholesterol - a randomized controlled trial. I suggest to anyone who is taking Advair, please stop taking this poison! Let me tell you about my life for the past week. First of all, I am 33 years old and in pretty good health except for asthma which I have had since I was 18. I have been on Advair for a little over a year. I was on Serevent before that. I also take Singulair which I love. Let me start with the past week of my so called life. After 3 weeks of feeling extremely exhausted and not being able to stand up without being dizzy, I woke up one morning and thought my heart was going to pound through my chest. I spent an entire day sitting in one spot trying to keep calm while my heart raced and skipped and pounded. Trying to sleep that night was a joke because there was no change . The next day I went to my Chiropractor/Kinnesiologist. His first suspician was my Advair inhaler. I really had him puzzled because my blood pressure was high for the first time ever and he could hear my heart skipping a beat. I did not think he was right about my inhaler because there was NO WAY it could be making me feel this awful.Yet over the entire week that he treated me he was still possitive that I was having a severe "chemical" reaction. On the sixth day of heart palpitaions, skipping beats, and no sleep ( I would try to sleep but every time I would start to doze off, an electrical charge would go through my body) I decided to go to my MD for peace of mind. My heart rate was alarmingly high but my EKG showed a very strong healthy heart! They put me on a holster heart moniter for twenty four hours. I am still waiting to hear the results. My doctor also lowered my dosage from 250/50 to 100/50 which I took only one day until I found this website. My inhaler went in the trash yesterday. I got my first nights sleep last night and today my heart is MUCH calmer. It is still a little shaky and I can't wait for this chemical to leave my system. Over the past year I have gone from a healthy, active 33 year old to a 33 year old in a 90 year old body. I have thought that I was developing Rhuematoid arthritis due to extreme pain in my shoulder, hands and neck. Then I was even convinced that I had Fibromyalgia. I have been so tired. I have had a rash develop that I could not explain on my arms and legs. I have forgotten what it is like to sleep a normal night. I believe that this is all the workings of Advair. I am in the process of finding out if I have any legal rights. This drug has taken a year of my life away since I feel like I have been in a fog. I forgot to mention short term memory problems. I did not agree to be a lab rat. Once again, if I had not found this website I don't know how long it would have taken me to figure it out or atleast believe my Chiroprator (Thank God for him!). Throw your advair in the trash where it belongs!!

I think it is interesting the symptoms that you mention here. I have been on birth control pills since the age of 19. I am now 28. Over the past year I have had similar symptoms. I have been on so many different BCP's that is is hard to keep count. They don't seem to work the way they claim to. The last BCP I was on was orthotryciclen. While taking these I began to experience severe heart palpitations. So bad that they would wake me up at night. Because I wasn't sure if it was an anxiety attack or just being in my head I decided to ignore it. Four months passed by and it seemed to get increasingly worse. I had enough and decided to go to my PCP. She wasn't really much help either. Although I was tested for Mitral Valve Prolapse, which I was told affects younger women my age. There was nothing found. What I thought was interesting is I really felt that it was the birth control pills, but I couldn't find it as a side affect on the information that was provided in the box. The tech who was doing my echocardiogram began to tell me she also experienced the same feelings and found out it was her BCP. Once she confirmed what I thought was right, decided to stop taking them. After three months the symptoms began to disappear. I figured it was just the particular brand. I began to take loestrin 24. I started to feel the same symptoms again, just not as severe. I would feel my heart beat when I would like down in my back and my stomach. My heart rate would reach 90 to 100 sometimes. I know this is not normal. When I visited my gyno yesterday she told me it was impossible that it was a result of the BCP. Maybe it was just anxiety and or perhaps I should get checked out by a cardiologist. That is serious stuff when you are talking to a young person about getting there heart check out. I think if there are any other women out there who are experiencing any similar symptoms should speak up. So these doctors won't keep telling us it is all in our heads and help to take care of this problem.
